Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a requisition?↓
Most private imaging clinics require a doctor's requisition or referral. If you have one, bring it. If not, tell us — some clinics can arrange an out-of-province physician consult to sign off on your request.
Is this covered by OHIP?↓
No. Private imaging is an out-of-pocket expense. OHIP covers MRI and CT when referred through the Ontario public system, but public waitlists can be months long. NextScan helps you access private options across Canada and near the border.
How does cross-border work?↓
Several US clinics near Ontario (Michigan, New York) accept Canadian patients with a valid requisition. You pay in USD at the clinic. We coordinate the booking and help route your report back to your physician.
